Growing up with a guitar in his hands, Neal Lucas began playing guitar professionally at age fourteen performing with various bands alongside his father. By age eighteen Neal began performing with his own band playing in a variety of venues.
As a graduate of the Atlanta Institute of Music, Neal was a fixture on the Atlanta and Nashville music scenes. As a professional musician, Neal’s experiences include performance, studio sessions, and guitar lessons. Neal also makes time to produce other artists with producer/engineer Dean Castille at Document Studios in Manchester, Georgia.
In May of 2004 Neal and singer/songwriter Sabra embarked on a tour of the southern states (Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia) supporting Sabra’s self titled release by performing in coffeehouses, restaurants, and nightclubs.
Later in 2004 Neal settled in the Columbus, Georgia area where he has created a presence again as an explosive performer and as the house guitarist for The Loft Studios in downtown Columbus. Neal’s experience and playing has been recognized by Dean Markley Strings as an endorsed artist.
As no surprise to Neal’s fans, Neal accompanied country music artist, Jodi Smith, on a USO tour of the Middle East performing for the soldiers who are serving our country at U.S. military bases in Kuwait, Iraq, Dubai, Djibouti, and the United Arab Emirates.
Along with an already intense schedule, Neal also tours with the Jonathan and Lisa Moore Band, an up and coming Christian rock band also from the Columbus, Georgia area. Through this band, Neal has worked with multi Grammy award winning producer, Don McCollister, of Nickel & Dime Studios, on their project "Roots". Also to his credit, Neal’s song “Smoke House” is featured on the compilation album “Ten Songs from the Edge of Georgia”.
